You get what you pay for, this is unmistakably so true. The best addition to my Cupra Formentor, it transformed the Beats factory system to another level, well the Beats actually does not exist anymore. Yes it needs some modification on the plastic tray where the Beats dsp sits, to move it all the way to the right side and thus the Match dsp can fit besides it, but that's all. A couple of cut openings on the front of the tray, so that the Beats dsp can fit its 2 front toes, drilling 2 opening for the new position of the torx screws at the back of the tray, double face Velcro on the Match dsp and you are all set. I was trying to fit the Match without repositioning the Beats dsp and simply doesn't work on the Formentor. It may work as I saw on a TROC or Ateca but not on the Formentor, as it has limited space. You have to modify as per above the plastic tray where the Beats dsp sits. I did it all by myself last night and apart from this minor modification on the plastic tray its a plug and play matter. Yes, you also have to arrange and fit the wiring loops and it takes some time but its worth all the trouble. Special attention to the plug that goes in to the Beats dsp as it easily comes off and cancels all sounds and all parking aids of the car, you have to ensure its snug and tight, better off use a tier up and keep it in place. I found the hard way after finishing the job!!!
Thanks to ARS to provide the wiring and instructions, without it, surely this whole thing would not work. All in all it should take max 2 hours to do it, it took me 3 hours because I had to remove the Beats dsp and tray twice when I found out that only by modifying the tray the Match dsp would perfectly fit. I have also a VISION VSX passive sub installed previously, in the space of the Beats sub, which did some good to the Beats system, but adding now the Match dsp it really feels like you are in a music studio room, there must be nothing better that this, its really a true HiFi experience. However, you will soon realize that the next step is to soon replace the factory Beats door speakers. It still sounds great with them, apart from some minor rattle, and only at half volume and certain music, as they cannot handle more than that from the Match. Replacing them will take the whole audio experience in to a complete different level. Get a couple of good pairs of speakers, not cheap ones, this Match dsp deserves the best of speakers to show its potential.
Got to thank the ARS team, true professionals, without them I wouldn't know what to do with that mediocre, to say the least, BEATS system in my Formentor. Now its a pleasure listening to music and soon I will be adding the speakers to complete the transformation.
