“M-Power” for your BMW
The MATCH UP 8DSP is the “M package” for your BMW HiFi sound system! This highly efficient 8-channel plug & play upgrade amplifier with integrated 9-channel 64-bit DSP was specially developed for BMWs from the G-series onwards with RAM radio unit and with/without HiFi sound system (option 676) and ensures a significantly more powerful and dynamic sound experience with convenient integration. Because a BMW needs sound that matches its dynamics!
Seamless connection and convenient upgrade options
With the UP 8BMW, simple and seamless connection to the BMW HiFi sound system at the original installation location is easily possible thanks to the included plug & play connection cable and BMW-specific mounting plate. To simplify further upgrades, it is perfectly designed for combination with other MATCH UPGRADE components for BMW vehicles, such as subwoofers, 2-way systems, and center speakers. Naturally, with a total of eight amplifier channels, plus an additional preamplifier output, the powerful 9-channel DSP allows for individual speaker configurations. Two amplifier channels deliver a powerful 160 W output at 2 ohms, providing ample power to drive even large subwoofers. Furthermore, the UP 8BMW boasts enhanced connectivity: In addition to the intelligent 6-channel high-level input with ADEP.3 circuitry, it is also equipped with a MEC slot for adding further interfaces, such as Bluetooth® HD audio streaming. A 1-channel line output allows for the connection of additional amplifiers, such as the MATCH UP 1FX, and an optical SPDIF input with a sampling rate of up to 96 kHz is also included. Of course, the SCP port for optional accessories such as DIRECTOR, CONDUCTOR, etc., is also included.
Virtual Channel Processing – this is how signal routing works today
Optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel sound systems makes sensible management and configuration of the many DSP channels in the amplifier indispensable – therefore, it was a given that the UP 8BMW would also be equipped with Audiotec Fischer's innovative Virtual Channel Processing.
Especially when the front, rear, and center systems are divided into different active multi-way systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits in terms of implementation and usability. The multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing," in conjunction with the renowned user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software, makes it easy to map even highly complex system configurations and freely assign our proprietary FX sound features. Furthermore, thanks to its generous number of channels, combined with the optional MEC ANALOG IN module, the UP 8BMW is also an ideal candidate for applications requiring 1:1 routing (IOR).
ACO – Advanced 32-Bit Co-Processor Platform
The UP 8BMW is, of course, equipped with the proprietary 32-bit ACO platform – this not only handles all control tasks with ultra-fast speed but, above all, offers a whole host of audio functions: Fantastic sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing and RealCenter are implemented, as well as a channel-separated input EQ with Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of the input signals from OE radios, which already include a sound setup from the factory.
DSP PC-Tool 5 feat. TuneEQ – Powerful features for ultimate sound experiences
Of course, the MATCH UP 8BMW can be configured using our professional and exceptionally intuitive DSP PC-Tool 5. The numerous familiar settings leave nothing to be desired and guarantee extremely precise sound adjustment, even with complex system configurations. And thanks to the proprietary TuneEQ function for automated frequency response correction, you also save a lot of time when tuning the sound.

Class GD Technology
Audiotec Fischer's unique Class GD concept combines the advantages of Class G technology with the principle of a Class D amplifier.
This results in an exceptionally high efficiency that surpasses even conventional Class D amplifiers. The Class GD concept demonstrates its advantages at low and medium output levels by varying the internal supply voltage of the power stages in steps depending on the amplitude of the input signal. This drastically reduces the average power loss generated by the amplifier.
ACO – Advanced 32-Bit CoProcessor
The MATCH UP 8BMW amplifier uses a particularly powerful, latest-generation 32-bit coprocessor. This not only handles all control tasks ultra-fast, but also the lightning-fast switching between up to ten possible sound setups.
But ACO offers much more – in addition to a channel-separated input EQ with Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of the input signals from OEM radios and fantastic sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or RealCenter, there is now the revolutionary TuneEQ function for automated adjustment of the output equalizers.
Another significant advantage is the coprocessor's integrated, native bootloader. This enables software upgrades for all DSP components, allowing, for example, the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit to be adapted to future changes in factory radio diagnostic systems or the device to be expanded with additional interfaces.
Intelligent High-Level Input ADEP.3
Modern factory-installed car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent regarding the diagnostics of connected speakers. The latest generation of BMW radios, in particular, is equipped with additional monitoring functions, which can lead to error messages or even malfunctions when an additional amplifier is connected. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection Generation 3) prevents these problems without unnecessarily stressing the radio's speaker outputs at high levels.
Start-Stop Capability
The power supply in the UP 8BMW amplifier ensures a stable internal voltage supply even during brief voltage drops down to 6 volts. This guarantees that the amplifier remains fully functional even when the engine is started. If the on-board voltage drops below 10.5 volts for more than 5 seconds, the amplifier enters "Protect Mode" (status LED glows solid red) to prevent further battery discharge.
Automatic Digital Signal Detection
Switching between the analog and digital inputs is signal-controlled. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input, the amplifier switches to this input. This function can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software, or alternatively, manual control via an optional remote control can be selected.
Power Save Mode
Power Save Mode allows the power consumption of the UP 8BMW (and any additional connected amplifiers) to be drastically reduced if no input signal is present for more than 60 seconds. Once Power Save Mode is active, the internal amplifier stages of the UP 8BMW and the remote output are switched off, thus significantly reducing power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operating mode within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is present at its input. The shutdown delay can be varied or completely deactivated using the DSP PC-Tool software. DSP Features TuneEQ is an extremely flexible and particularly easy-to-use function for automated frequency response correction. A single measurement per audio channel or channel pair with a suitable measurement microphone (such as our MTK1) is sufficient for TuneEQ to automatically and precisely adjust the equalizer to the desired reference curve. TuneEQ utilizes the full range of functions of the parametric equalizer, including center frequency, Q factor, and gain. And because the highly complex calculations required for this run in the background, you also save a lot of time when tuning your sound with TuneEQ. RealCenter: The "RealCenter" function is a proprietary algorithm from Audiotec Fischer that emphasizes the monaural information of the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. Unlike conventional methods that simply sum the channels, this one also dynamically controls the center signal based on the stereo information content of the left and right channels. This means that the center channel doesn't reproduce a signal if only the left or only the right channel is delivering an audio signal. With conventional algorithms, the center channel would only be 6 dB quieter in this case. Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" thus enables a unique, wide soundstage – and it's equally optimal for the driver and passenger! The disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an intrusive, narrow spatial soundstage, are finally a thing of the past.
Augmented Bass Processing
Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing," consisting of two revolutionary sound features: "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander." These are specifically designed to dramatically improve the bass response of subwoofers.
"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" ingeniously combines maximum deep bass foundation and high maximum sound pressure level—regardless of the music genre or radio sound settings. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" amplifies the lower frequency range and also varies the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter. The result is significantly more powerful, deeper bass reproduction at low and medium volumes without the risk of mechanically or electrically overloading the subwoofer at high volumes. It's simply fascinating what kind of bass performance is suddenly possible. For those who want the low frequencies to be even deeper and "blacker," the "SubXpander" can also be activated. Here, subharmonic tones are mixed in with the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.
