Eton PRS 165.3 3-way system

The semi-active 3-way top system in its class! A reinforced fiberglass paper cone ensures dynamic, powerful bass reproduction with a warm sound signature! Effective, open-sounding, and detailed midrange are just some of the attributes of the new PRS 165.3 3-way system. The reinforced, powder-coated metal basket ensures optimal stability and provides excellent ventilation for the powerful ferrite magnet system. The vented voice coil former, in conjunction with the large core bore, also provides the necessary cooling, which has a positive effect on efficiency. A low-pass filter is required in the signal source/amplifier for connecting the woofer.

The 19 mm soft-dome tweeters deliver a silky, smooth, and unobtrusive sound. They reproduce fine, detailed frequencies and provide very clear high-frequency imaging. Their excellent omnidirectional characteristics add that certain something extra to the nuances of the high frequencies. They can be mounted in flush-mount or surface-mount enclosures, allowing for optimal adjustment of their dispersion characteristics. The PRS 165.2 and PRS 165.3 come with a high-quality crossover network featuring sophisticated air-core inductors and premium film capacitors. Two-stage midrange filtering with 6 dB / 12 dB level adjustment is also available. The 80 mm midrange drivers feature a hand-coated paper cone and a stiffened metal basket for exceptional stability. They are driven by a powerful ferrite magnet with optimized magnetic field symmetry. The well-ventilated metal basket and the ventilated voice coil former with its large core bore ensure sufficient cooling even at high levels. This ensures detailed midrange and high efficiency, including a grille.
