Over the years, some models have become true cult objects. This includes the legendary Blaupunkt “Frankfurt RCM 82” from 1992. Now we present the reinterpretation of the popular 1-DIN car radio, combining the unique features of the 90s model with new technologies and functions. The result is the Blaupunkt “Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB”.

Its operating concept, the simple design, and the crystal-clear reception contributed significantly to the popularity of the original Frankfurt RCM 82. For this new edition, we've retained the styling of the original model, while simultaneously equipping the radio with modern Vario Colour illumination for the buttons and display. Excellent reception remains a strength of the new classic car radio, thanks to the Blaupunkt Codem IV FM RDS and DAB+ tuner. New features include numerous interfaces, such as two USB ports, an aux input, and a microSD slot. Audio streaming via Bluetooth is also now supported by this returning legend. Furthermore, the radio bears the "Made for iPhone/iPod" label, ensuring compatibility. All audio sources can be selected directly via buttons, and many other settings are also accessible with a single press. Additional functions are located in the clearly structured menu, which is available in German or English. All settings are permanently saved, even when the battery is disconnected. The 90s entertainer has finally arrived in the present.

The new “Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB” has a shallow installation depth – ideal for classic cars with shortened mounting slots. But it's not just the car radio itself that takes the user on a journey back in time; the packaging has also been elaborately designed and modeled after the original.

From cassette deck to modern media

The Mediaport interfaces allow you to conveniently play your music collection via microSD, USB, audio input, or even with an iPod/iPhone. Operating small USB sticks and microSD cards is also possible with the cover closed to maintain the original look.

Interesting for youngtimers / classic cars

The original device was commonly installed in the 90s in the VW Golf III, Ford Escort, BMW E30/E34/E36, Opel Kadett, MB W124/R129/W140, Porsche 911/944/928 and many more. Now it returns as the “Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB” in its original design, but with state-of-the-art technology. And with “Variocolour” (4,096 colors), the illuminated buttons and the display can be perfectly matched to the color of the car model for a harmonious overall look.
