Ampire 506T Glass Breakage Sensor
concealed microphone analyzes the frequency, intensity, and timing of all sounds in the vehicle. The spectral characteristics of a recorded sound are evaluated by a microprocessor. An alarm is triggered when typical characteristics of the sound of breaking glass are detected. This technology is completely false-alarm free. Advantages of the system: - Inexpensive sensor - Easy installation - Minimal wiring costs - Very high false-alarm reliability Important note: If you want to connect multiple alarm sensors to one alarm input of the alarm system, you must decouple each alarm line with a blocking diode (sold separately). Otherwise, false alarms may occur.
CONNECTIONS
- Red: Connect the red wire of the 3-pin connector to a permanent 12V supply.
- Black: Connect the black wire of the 3-pin connector to ground or the "ground when armed" terminal of your alarm system.
- Blue: Connect the blue wire of the 3-pin connector to the (-) alarm input of your alarm system.
INSTALLATION
- For optimal sensor performance, choose a suitable installation location, such as under the headliner or opposite the window to be monitored. Avoid proximity to noisy engines, compressors, or fans. Determine the exact position and orientation of the 506T so that the microphone side of the sensor has an unobstructed view of the monitored windows. No objects or wiring harnesses should obstruct the sensor's detection angle.
SETTINGS
- Adjust the sensitivity using the small dial on the housing. Make a noise with a key ring to test the setting. Tapping a coin against a vehicle window should not trigger an alarm. The red LED illuminates whenever the sensor triggers an alarm.
TECHNICAL DATA
- Operating voltage: 9-15V DC
- Current consumption: 0.001A (average value during normal operation)
- Temperature range: -40°C ~ +85°C
- Output signal: negative pulse of 0.5 seconds (short-circuit protection circuit)
