BRAX MATRIX ML6D 16 cm woofer/midrange driver

The BRAX MATRIX loudspeaker series has stood for unique sound and quality characteristics for years.
Therefore, it is only logical that the latest technologies and the highest quality materials were the focus in the further development of our 165 mm mid-bass drivers, in order to meet the BRAX brand's demand for pure, unadulterated music reproduction.

As with the new ML10 and ML3 loudspeakers, the unique "MicroSphere" coating also ensures outstanding sonic precision in the ML6D. In this patented technology, ceramic micro-hollow spheres with a diameter of only 75 µm are embedded in a polymer layer and applied to the diaphragm. This special coating guarantees perfect internal damping without negatively affecting the diaphragm weight. Instead, the innovative coating increases the rigidity of the hand-crafted cone, allowing the mid-bass driver to perform even more dynamically and with greater precision. In terms of design and technology, the BRAX philosophy is continued without exception: The understated, elegant appearance reveals smart details such as the new, hemispherical dust cap for optimized frequency response in the upper midrange, the perfectly linear magnet drive for minimal distortion, the multi-vented voice coil for high power handling, and a flow-optimized, stable die-cast basket. Used as a mid-bass driver, the ML6D completes audiophile sound concepts designed entirely for authentic musical enjoyment. As with all MATRIX products, each pair of speakers receives its own serial number, which is recorded in a service database. This high-end product is further enhanced by its elegant wooden box packaging, which underscores the BRAX brand philosophy. An optional stainless steel mounting ring set including grid (MR6) is available. The solid stainless steel ring can be used as a mounting ring or to hold the grille, depending on the installation position.
